I have combined skin and ear symptoms together since the external ears are essentially part of the skin. Both organs originate form the same type of tissue in the embryo and they generally respond similarly when illness occurs. They also seem to have a large capacity for disease in the sense that the body can limit disease symptoms to the skin & ears for a long time, even though the illness is worsening systemically.
