For Goodness Sakes, Let Them Sniff!

If dogs can be trained to sniff out things like bombs and fugitives, the scat of endangered animals, or even detect certain types of cancers, imagine what our dogs are missing when we don’t allow them time to sniff!
Taste is for humans what smell is for dogs. 
Think of it this way; it is entirely possible for us to ingest calories through a feeding tube without getting to taste the food. 
We would get all the nutrients, we just wouldn’t get any of the flavor. That doesn’t sound like any fun, does it? 
Well, that is essentially what it’s like for a dog to experience the world without ample opportunity to smell his/her surroundings.
