How We Choose the Dog Foods We Carry
Bridger Animal Nutrition® carefully selects foods from the thousands of premium dog foods available in the marketplace.
Over the last 26 years, we’ve developed an approach that evaluates the sourcing, nutrition, and manufacturing methods of food.
When choosing the dog foods we carry, we look at 1) the quality and digestibility of the ingredients, 2) the source of the nutrients and 3) the reason behind the formula’s foundation. We work with reputable companies who care about the quality of the food they make and are honest in all their communications.
We believe strongly in feeding fresh, whole foods. The Bozeman store boasts 18 reach-in glass door commercial freezers and a walk-in in our warehouse filled to the brim with species appropriate components and blends for cats & dogs. Incorporating raw foods into a pets daily diet adds all sorts of healthy benefits like good bacteria, enzymes, phytochemicals, food-based soluble fibers and antioxidants. Raw food promotes cleaner teeth, better digestion, decreases inflammation, and supports the entire renal system.
For more useful information on feeding dogs we recommend dogsnaturallymagazine, rawfed, dogs4dogs. More can be found here.
We carry commercial raw foods, pre-mixes for your own raw, component ingredients like organ meats, ground organ blends, green tripe, meaty bones, bone grinds, veggie and fruit blends, recreational chew bones, “body parts” like necks and feet, fermented fish stock, kefir, raw milks, broths, toppers, freeze dried, dehydrated, canned, & kibbled dog foods.
Brands we carry:
We're picky about the brands to carry, so if we don't carry a brand....there's usually a reason.

Questions about what dog products we carry?
Contact UsAfter years of feeding what we thought was “the best” dog food out there to our French Brittanies, a new dog entered our family and was not thriving. Libby helped us pick out a food especially for her. She did so well on it that we switched all the dogs to it. We have seen improvements in all the dogs that we didn’t know needed to be made! Energy, attention, recovery, coat color & quality all improved. Excellent knowledgeable service, thank you.

Contact UsOur lab had terribly oily smelly ears and was on antibiotics on & off for about 3 years. Libby helped us get her diet straightened out, which took months, but now her ears are consistently calm. Very nice.
My kitty was diagnosed with chronic UTI. The staff at Bridger educated me about feeing enough moisture to my cat, changing the litter box around after the infection got managed, and what to feed to prevent the UTI, and he hasn’t had one now in 7 months and counting. He’s doing so much better, BIG thank you.

How A Raw Diet Aids In Oral Health
February 22, 2021

Did you know that over 80% of dogs and 70% of cats in the United States suffer from active dental disease? Believe it or not, maintaining proper dental hygiene is a critical part to your pet’s overall health and well-being. Though often overlooked, plaque, tartar, irritated gums and bad breath are likely a result of poor nutrition and an imbalanced diet. Ideally, your pet’s teeth should be strong, white and plaque free!

We stopped at Bridger Animal Nutrition to see if there was anything we could do for our 12 year old basset hound Daisy. Daisy had been diagnosed with cancer and was slowly losing weight and eating less and less. I was desperate to find anything to get her eating again to maybe get some more time with Daisy. The very kind and informative gal gave us several food options that she thought would work. We went home and gave it a try. Daisy did start eating a little bit again and we got another month with her. For that I will always be grateful and it started with a stop at Bridger Animal Nutrition. Thank You.
